QSI (CEO Lee Chung-dai) delivered 400 million KRW in development funds to Kyungpook National University for future semiconductor research and education.
Kyungpook National University held a plaque ceremony at the president's office of Kyungpook National University on the Sep 18.
QSI is the only company in Korea that produces laser diodes (LD), which are key components of the optical semiconductor industry.
Since 2016, QSI has been conducting joint research on the development of compound semiconductors with Kim Dae-hyun, a professor of electronic engineering at Kyungpook National University.
Lee Chung-dai, CEO of QSI, said, "Domestic semiconductor industry has grown with Kyungpook National University graduates. I hope that Kyungpook National University will continue to lead talent production and research for semiconductor industry"
The delivered fund will be set aside as the "Electronic Engineering Department Fund" and used for semiconductor development.
